JP-EU SUMMIT ON INDUSTRIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL BIOTECHNOLOGY

EuropaBio, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), and Japan Bioindustry Association (JBA) jointly hold the EU-Japan World Summit on Industrial/Environmental Biotechnology on September 8 in Yokohama. Industrial/Environmental Biotechnology (IEB) includes bioprocesses, biomaterials, bioproducts and biomass, all of which would be leading technologies to develop sustainable society in the 21st century. The EXPO 2005: Nature's Wisdom is currently held in Aichi Prefecture, and we think the summit would be a good opportunity to promote environmentally friendly biotechnology. A synergic effect is also expected to integrate the summit with BioJapan 2005 in Yokohama.
