Biotechnology is a key technology that is expected to realize an affordable way of life for people around the world by providing innovative solutions to problems involving health, food supplies, the environment and energy.
Biotechnology is currently in a transient stage in which it is developing from the realm of technology to the realm of industry, and efforts must be taken to ensure the development of internationally competitive bioindustries through cooperation among the industrial, academic and government sectors.
Amidst these circumstances, the Japan Association of Bioindustries Executives (JABEX) was established by bringing together executives engaged in a wide range of bioindustries.
JABEX functions an active organization for promoting the growth of bioindustries in Japan,and contributes to the growth and development of bioindustries by making various proposals and promoting cooperation among the industrial, academic and government sectors.
