本セミナーでは、BioJapan当日の交流促進を図ることを目的として、事前に来日企業等の各社に、それぞれの取り組みをご紹介いただきます。
アジア太平洋地域では、バイオものづくり・スマートセル技術の研究開発が進む一方、実用化に不可欠なパイロットスケールの生産施設が不足していることが大きな課題となっています。本講演では、クイーンズランド工科大学のDr. Leon Scott氏により、豪州のスマートセル・スケールアップ施設「Pioneer BioPilot」の最新動向を紹介いただくと同時に、規制対応や製造技術の進展に加え、豊富な原料・再生可能エネルギー、研究力、政府支援、日本企業との連携実績など、豪州がバイオものづくりのスケールアップに適した環境である理由を解説いただきます。

演題名 ： Pioneer BioPilot : your partner for scaling up smart cell manufacturing technology
講演者 ： Dr. Leon Scott 氏（ Director Research Infrastructure Operations, Queensland University of Technology ）
要旨 ：
Smart cell technology provides great opportunity to address major global challenges, including achieving food and energy security for a growing population while reducing emissions and mitigating climate change. Companies in Japan, and throughout the Asia-Pacific are successfully designing and testing smart cell technology; However, access to pilot scale facilities remains a critical constraint.
In this seminar, Dr Leon Scott, from Queensland University of Technology, provides an update on progress at Pioneer BioPilot: Australia's Smart Cell scale up facility. This will include recent advances for regulatory approvals and accelerated manufacture of smart cells. Dr Scott will outline why QUT, and Australia, are an ideal partner for the scale-up of smart cell technology, including abundant feedstock and renewable energy, a skilled workforce, supportive regulatory environment, exceptional research expertise, a connected pipeline of key infrastructure, strong government support and a long history of successfully working with Japanese companies.
