The seminar entitled "ITALY MEETS JAPAN", organized by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Italian Trade Agency and other organizations and focusing on the theme of empowering lives and sustainable nutrition, was held at the Italian Embassy in Japan (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on March 14th, 2025.
Speakers from Japan and Italy introduced topics on sustainable nutrition, innovative food technology, and examples of low-impact food products on the environment. From JBA, Dr. Keiko Abe, Professor Emeritus and Project Professor at The University of Tokyo, Specially Appointed Researcher Visiting Professor, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Board of Councilor and former Chairperson of JBA, took the stage and gave a presentation on the history of the Japanese food industry to date and new food technology initiatives.
About 50 people involved in Japan-Italy relations gathered in the lecture hall to discuss the topic, and the lecture was also broadcast live on the web, with many people involved in Japan-Italy relations listening in.
