San Diego, USA, June 22-25, 2026 - JBA participated in the BIO International Convention 2026, the biotechnology partnering event, held in San Diego, California.
Prior to the opening of the convention, JBA took part in the Annual Meeting of the International Council of Biotechnology Associations (ICBA), where biotechnology associations from around the world exchanged views on policy priorities, pharmaceutical supply chains, and intellectual property. JBA introduced Japan's national biotechnology strategy, efforts to strengthen pharmaceutical supply chain resilience, and the continued international expansion of Bio Japan.
JBA also contributed to the ICBA Roundtable on "Global Supply Chain Resiliency for Biopharmaceutical Innovations" which brought together government officials and representatives of biotechnology associations from Japan, Europe, and other regions. Participants discussed measures to strengthen global pharmaceutical supply chains and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in ensuring a stable supply of essential medicines.
During BIO 2026, JBA held meetings with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), including its CEO, Mr. John Crowley, as well as biotechnology organizations from the United States, Europe, Taiwan, Korea, and other regions. The meetings provided valuable opportunities to exchange information on industry trends, discuss future collaboration, and introduce BioJapan to international partners.
Through its participation in BIO 2026, JBA further strengthened its global network and will continue working with biotechnology organizations worldwide to promote Japan's biotechnology ecosystem and international collaboration
